Substitute goalkeeper Daan Reiziger was the hero as Ajax U19’s defeated Atletico Madrid on penalties to reach the UEFA Youth League quarter-finals.

Ajax topped their group to book the meeting with Atletico Madrid and John Heitinga was able to call on Naci Unuvar and Sontje Hansen, who have both made their first-team debuts this season.
Atletico Madrid caused Ajax problems in the ninety minutes but neither team was able to score, meaning it went to penalties.
In the 93rd minute, Heitinga decided to switch goalkeepers, with Daan Reiziger coming on. It worked wonders with Reiziger saving three penalties before he netted the winning spot-kick himself.
Ajax move onto the last eight and still have hopes of winning the competition for the first time.
