PSV’s difficult start in the competition continued on Tuesday as they suffered their second defeat in the opening three games away to Wolfsburg.

After only seven minutes the German side were ahead through Robin Ziegele, but winger Ramon-Pascal Lundqvist leveled the score’s for PSV. Goalkeeper Yanick van Osch then made several good saves to prevent Wolfsburg, but before the break Laros Duarte conceded a penalty, which was converted by Leandro Putaro.

After the break PSV looked for a way back in the game, but eventually goals from Orhan Vojic and captain Amara Conde made it 4-1 at the end for Wolfsburg.

PSV now remain on one point from their opening three games and sit bottom of the group.

Ajax U19 2-0 Schalke U19

In the champions path stage in the competition Ajax made it into the second round after a 2-0 win over Schalke.

Ajax went into the tie 3-2 ahead from the first leg in Germany three weeks ago, and five minutes before half time Danish striker Kasper Dolberg extended their lead with a nice finish.

Goalkeeper Stan van Bladeren made two great saves early in the second half to prevent Schalke an equaliser, and just after the hour mark Dolberg put the tie beyond doubt with his second.

In the next round Ajax will come up against Russian’s Spartak Moscow.
