A brilliant goal by 17-year-old Ferdi Kadioglu earned NEC Nijmegen a 1-1 draw at Utrecht.

kadioglu-necThe home side went in search of their third straight win from the start and led ten minutes before the break with Nacer Barazite tapping in from Richairo Zivkovic’s cross. It should have been 2-0 soon after but Sebastien Haller hit the bar before Zivkovic missed one-on-one with Joris Delle.

NEC didn’t threaten at all in the first half but in the second they improved and equalised on 62 minutes as Kadioglu fired an excellent strike past Robbin Ruiter from outside the box. The 17-year-old is now the youngest player to score in the Eredivisie for NEC.

The visitors then created chances to win the game but Janio Bikel and Mayi both shot good chances wide.

The draw means Utrecht are 8th while NEC are 11th.
