Utrecht comfortably defeated ADO Den Haag 4-0 on Friday evening to inflict a first defeat in the Eredivisie on Alan Pardew.

Kristoffer Peterson returned to Utrecht earlier in the week and John van den Brom started the winger against ADO Den Haag, who were looking to build on last weekend’s win over RKC.

After 14 minutes, Peterson opened the scoring with a fine finish after racing onto an Urby Emanuelson pass.

Utrecht completely dominated after the opener but had to wait until the 54th minute to make it 2-0 when Sean Klaiber found the top corner from distance.

Gyrano Kerk added a third on the counter in the 74th minute before Klaiber finished off an excellent team move to make it 4-0.

ADO Den Haag were awarded a penalty in the last minute, but Jeroen Zoet was equal to John Goossens spot-kick.

Pardew’s first defeat since he took charge of ADO Den Haag means the club remain in the bottom three, while Utrecht are seventh.
