The 21-year-old Brazilian/Belgian was part of the PSV Eindhoven academy between 2005 and 2011 before leaving for Manchester United. He has made 13 appearances for the United first team, whilst also spending last season on loan with Spanish side Granada, where he netted five times in 37 games.

Pereira is now on his way back to the Netherlands with Utrecht, where he will link up with Erik ten Hag, who was the assistant manager during his time in the PSV academy. According to AD, Utrecht are very close to agreeing a loan deal with Manchester United for the attacking midfielder.

Pereira is set to join Utrecht as a replacement for Yassin Ayoub, who is being heavily linked with a move away from the club
