NAC Breda are eight points adrift at the bottom of the table after a 4-0 loss to Utrecht.

NAC Breda went into the weekend five points adrift at the bottom but De Graafschap’s shock win over Heerenveen increased their need for a victory against Heerenveen.

However, Utrecht are battling for a European place and they dominated the game from the start. After 34 minutes they deservedly took the lead when Jean-Christophe Bahebeck rose to head in the opener.

Before the break, Utrecht were awarded a penalty for a foul on Bahebeck and Simon Gustafson slotted in the spot kick to make it 2-0.

Ten minutes into the second half, Willem Janssen simply headed in a corner to add the visitors third goal before Bahebeck quickly added his second to make it 4-0.

After that Utrecht comfortably played out the rest of the game as the home crowd called for head coach Mitchell van der Gaag to leave.

NAC are now eight points adrift at the bottom of the table while Utrecht are sixth.
