The former PSV and Vitesse Arnhem midfielder has been a free agent since leaving Sporting Lisbon in the summer and after five months without a club, Labyad is returning to the Eredivisie.
Utrecht have agreed a deal with the attacker, who will be presented by the club on Wednesday. After Wout Brama, the 23-year-old will be Utrecht’s second signing of January.
Labyad started his career with PSV Eindhoven before leaving for Sporting Lisbon in 2012. However, the move to Portugal was not a success for the Moroccan, who spent a year-and-a-half on loan with Vitesse in 2014/15. Last season Labyad made two appearances for Fulham during a loan spell before having his contract terminated in the summer.
