Feyenoord lost to PSV Eindhoven last weekend and were stunned 2-0 at home to NAC Breda on Saturday. Their first ever defeat to NAC in De Kuip.
Van Bronckhorst said, “We were very average tonight. When you play the way we did you do not deserve to get anything out of the game.
“We were sluggish and we did not create many chances and missing the penalty really hurt us. If we had scored that we could have gone on to get something out of the game in the last 15 minutes.
“We have to show up and be counted in every game that we play this season and we must improve.
“Against Manchester City in the Champions League we did not stand a chance and we played a good second half against PSV Eindhoven. But tonight we were just not got enough.
“Last season when we became Champions we managed to often win or get something out of these types of games but so far this season that is not the case.”
