Giovanni van Bronckhorst has left his role as head coach of Guangzhou R&F.

The former Feyenoord manager has been with the Chinese side since January but now leaves in order to spend more time with his family.

Guangzhou R&F finished the regular season in sixth and had to come through a relegation playoff. They did and take eleventh place out of the 16 teams overall.

Van Bronckhorst’s assistants Jean-Paul van Gastel and Arno Philips have also left China.
