The 42-year-old has been linked with Rangers due to his past with the Scots. Van Bronckhorst spent three years at the club between 1998 and 2001 before joining Arsenal.

When asked about the vacant Rangers job, Van Bronckhorst is quoted by the BBC saying that he is fully focused on Feyenoord, but won’t rule out a return to Glasgow in the future.

He said, “I have seen the media coverage but I am fully focused at Feyenoord and I will be focusing on Feyenoord for the next years.

“I obviously had a great time in Scotland with Rangers, I think one of the best times I had abroad.

“But at the moment, for me, all that counts is Feyenoord.

“You can never tell, maybe in the future, because it is still a club in my heart”
