Dick Advocaat’s contract with the KNVB expires at the end of this month, and although Ronald Koeman is favourite to take over, some are pushing for a foreign coach.
However, speaking at his press conference, Giovanni van Bronckhorst spoke against a foreign coach taking charge as he believes there are plenty of Dutchmen capable of leading the national team.
He said, “The Dutch team just needs a Dutch trainer.
“But that is purely my opinion. We have enough good trainers, but at the KNVB you are dependent on who is available and who wants it. I suspect they will talk about this in the coming weeks in Zeist.”
