Donny van de Beek provided a wonderful assist as Manchester United defeated Brighton & Hove Albion 3-0 to book their place in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.

Van de Beek started on the bench at the weekend as Manchester United defeated Brighton in the Premier League. However, he started on Wednesday as the two clubs went toe to toe again, this time in the League cup.

The Dutch international played the full ninety minutes of the clash as Manchester United eased to a 3-0 win, with Van de Beek playing a key role. He set up Juan Mata to net the second with a clever backheel.

It is the first assist for Van de Beek since he joined the club from Ajax.

Joel Veltman featured in the match for Brighton, while Timothy Fosu-Mensah was an unused substitute.
