Donny van de Beek will miss the rest of the season after undergoing knee surgery.

The midfielder came off in the first half of Manchester United’s clash with Bournemouth earlier this month and Erik ten Hag stated it did not look good at the time.

Now it has been confirmed that Van de Beek needed surgery on his knee and that he will not play again this season.

Van de Beek posted on his Twitter page, “I am very disappointed that the season is over for me. After this successful operation, it is now time to start my rehabilitation. I will do everything I can to come back stronger for this club.”

It is a bitter blow for the Dutch international who has struggled for game time since joining the Premier League side. The 25-year-old has only made 60 appearances for the club since 2020.
