Henk ten Cate believes Donny van de Beek should forget about a move to Real Madrid this summer and remain at Ajax for another year.

Real Madrid have agreed a deal for the 23-year-old but are stalling on completing the move due to finances.
Speaking on Rondo, Henk ten Cate has advised Van de Beek to remain at Ajax, “I think he is a good football player, but Luka Modric is now on the bench at Real Madrid. Then I think: Donny, what are you looking for there? Go to a club where you can progress and play every week. Or else stay with Ajax for another year.
“I think he is good, he has quality. If he would play at Ajax for another year and get even better, he is much more mature to make that step.”
Van de Beek has also been linked with Manchester United, Everton and Newcastle United.
