Van de Looi elaborated on their 3-5-2 formation that he states the players enjoy and that it can be very attractive if a lot of movement is involved.
He said, ”We played well in the first half and that was the base for a good victory today.
”We have to remain modest we showed today that a 3-5-2 formation can be very attractive if there is a lot of movement.
”We train every day in a 3-5-2 formation and the players have shown today that they believe in this system. But regardless of what formation a team plays a team must get used to one another and train to improve together as a team.
”We were aware of criticism that would come our way having 0 points after 4 games. If you experience such form during a season then not too many people will complain but if it is the first 4 games people will quickly reach their conclusions.
”I always had confidence in what we were doing and it’s nice to win as we were under pressure today and we dealt with it well. I am happy for my players.
”We are also aware that winning once in 5 games is not enough and we want more.”
