Micky van de Ven scored and kept a clean sheet at the back as Wolfsburg defeated Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.

Louis van Gaal names his final Netherlands squad for the World Cup on Friday and hoping to impress him on Tuesday was Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven and Dortmund forward Donyell Malen, who both started.

After only five minutes, Van de Ven headed Wolfsburg in front at the back post from a corner. After that, Malen posed a threat but Dortmund could not level.

Van de Ven managed to keep his third straight clean sheet with Malen substituted in the 70th minute. Just before the end, Lukas Nmecha sealed the victory for the hosts.

Wolfsburg now climb to 8th while Dortmund sits 4th.
