The 49-year-old was appointed head coach of AZ in September 2014 after Marco van Basten quit the club, and guided them to a third place finish last season.
This campaign has been difficult so far, with AZ currently sitting 10th, but the club have decided to exercise an option in Van den Brom’s contract which extends his stay until 2018.
Van den Brom told the AZ official website that he believes there is a still a lot of work to be done at the club, “I’m really enjoying myself at AZ. At this club the conditions exist to work as I would like. We have fantastic staff, a group of players with talent and some experienced players. There’s still a lot of stretch in it.”
