After Johan Cruyff decided to quit his advisory role with Ajax, Edwin van der Sar has given his reaction to NOS.

Van der Sar is currently the commercial director of the Amsterdam club, and he believes the club will carry on as normal, despite the loss of Cruyff, who quit as an adviser to Ajax earlier on Monday.
He said, ”Of course Ajax will carry on. Ajax is a fantastic club to work for and also to be a supporter of. Just because an employee has left it does not mean that the club will cease to exist”.
”The manor in which the club works with emphasis on the youth. Of course we are top of the Eredivisie and of course we want to win every game in an accomplished manor. It’s also important that the youth players continue their path to the first team and that will always be the case here at Ajax”.
“I have been at the club in this capacity for 3 years and in the last two months in particular everyone has been asked to put their best foot forward for Ajax. We wanted to keep everybody on board which is always my way.
“Unfortunately that is not the case at this moment in time with Johan Cruyff leaving the club”.
