Because of fears over the spread of the Coronavirus, the Dutch government announced on Thursday that all sporting events in the Netherlands with a crowd of over 100 people would be postponed until the 31st of March.
Speaking to the Ajax website, Van der Sar said on the decision, “I think we should do everything we can to limit this as much as possible. We must all do our part to follow the guidelines that RIVM and the government have set for us. Of course we join in as Ajax and we also call on the fans to ensure that they stay healthy, so that they can be present at the Ajax matches again very quickly.”
No football for a month will affect Ajax, “We will indeed limit our activities. We’ll have to solve that in a neat way for everyone.”
