Rafael van der Vaart believes Phillip Cocu should be named the new Netherlands head coach.

Ronald Koeman was confirmed as the new head coach of Barcelona on Wednesday and now the search for a new Oranje boss has started.

Speaking to Ziggo Sports, Rafael van der Vaart put forward his preferred candidate, “My first feeling said Cocu. I think he is not so easily worried and is very pleasant in a group. He has also worked with Guus Hiddink for a long time, so I have a good feeling about that.”

Cocu is currently head coach of English side Derby County. He previously coached PSV Eindhoven and Fenerbahce.
