According to reports in Italy, Roma have beaten off West Ham and Manchester United to sign free agent Gregory van der Wiel.

The 28-year-old is to leave PSG this summer with his contract expiring on the 30th of June and according to Corriere dello Sport, Roma have beaten off competition from around Europe to secure the right backs signature.
Van der Wiel is reportedly set to sign a three-year deal in Rome and will become a teammate of fellow Dutchman Kevin Strootman.
West Ham, Manchester United, Spartak Moscow, Wolfsburg and Inter Milan were also said to be interested in the Dutch international, who started his career with Ajax before joining PSG in 2012.
