The 23-year-old centre back has been a star in Scotland since joining from Groningen in 2013, and attracted interest from Premier League clubs such as Tottenham, Arsenal, and Southampton.
However Van Dijk has been unable to break into the Netherlands squad as of yet, and he has now admitted he is looking to make a transfer this summer to a more competitive league.
Speaking to Omroep Brabant radio, Van Dijk said, “Celtic are a great club with a fantastic stadium and the fans are great.”
“But the competition is not too good.
“I want to develop. If the opportunity is there, I would definitely consider a transfer, but maybe there will be nothing.”
