The 24-year-old has made his desire to move to England no secret over the past few months, and although Southampton have officially made their interest known, Celtic are refusing to do a deal for the centre back.
However after exiting the Champions League to Malmo on Tuesday, Van Dijk admitted he may have played his final game for Celtic.
Van Dijk told the Daily Mail, “There is interest, but it is difficult to discuss it so soon after the game. If this was my last game for Celtic, then this is probably the last way I want to end my time in Scotland, ”
On whether the rumours of an exit affected his performance, he added, “It was no problem for me to focus on the match. There are many rumors, but nothing concrete is happening. There is a chance that this was my last game for Celtic. ”
On his time at Celtic he concluded, “Celtic meant a lot to me and it still does. I cherish every memory I have at this club. I am developing and still can be improved. There is always a chance that I leave, we will see what bring in the coming days. “
