Virgil van Dijk has stated that Jurgen Klopp is the reason he chose to sign for Liverpool over Manchester City or Chelsea.

Back in 2018, Van Dijk swapped Southampton for Liverpool and has since won the Champions League and Premier League trophies.
Speaking to the Express, Van Dijk has praised Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp as a big reason why he chose the club over other options he had.
Van Dijk said, “I had the chance to go to Chelsea and Man City. When you compare clubs, you look at the history, the city, the selection and the plans for the near future.
“But the most important thing is the manager,” continues Van Dijk. “And Jürgen Klopp is an important reason why I chose Liverpool. He has something special. Is it his energy, his appearance in general? I sometimes wonder what he does and what makes him different from others. I think it’s his man-management. That’s more important today than anything else in football.
“Klopp gives you a great feeling. He is genuinely happy to see you when you get to the club in the morning. That may sound crazy, but that really inspires you as a player. After a game he gives every player a hug. A small detail, but it does the players well.”
