The six nominees for the PFA Player of the Year were announced on Saturday and Dutch centre-back Virgil van Dijk is in the running for the prestigious award.

The Netherlands captain has been sensational for Liverpool this season and he is said to be the favourite for the PFA Player of the year alongside Manchester City attacker Raheem Sterling.
Liverpool forward Sadio Mane, Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva and Chelsea’s Eden Hazard are the other nominees.
Van Dijk could be the fourth Dutchman to pick up the award after Dennis Bergkamp (1998), Ruud van Nistelrooy (2002) and Robin van Persie (2012).
