Manchester City failing to beat Chelsea on Thursday sealed the title for Liverpool.
Speaking to the Liverpool website after the game, Van Dijk said on his feelings, “It’s hard to describe. It is so beautiful that I can be part of this team and of this club.
“It is fantastic that we can give the supporters this title, they have waited so long. They have been very loyal over the years, long before my arrival. That just makes it more beautiful. I haven’t had time to think about what has happened in the past two and a half years, that is yet to come. It is unbelievable. This group is very special. I am proud to be in this selection.”
Speaking to BT Sport, Van Dijk also admitted he was nervous watching the Chelsea and Manchester City game, “It seemed to take ages, it never seemed to stop. When the free-kick went in, another great goal. I became more and more nervous. It is now difficult to describe my feelings. “
