Liverpool turned up at Watford on a 27 game unbeaten run, with 26 of those games ending in victory. However, Watford stunned the Premier League leaders by running riot and achieving a 3-0 win.
That means Liverpool’s chance of emulating Arsenal’s unbeaten run in the 2003/04 season are now over.
After the game, Van Dijk told the BBC, “The record and the talk about records all come from the media. We just try to win every game.
“Credits for Watford. They played well, with a lot of fighting spirit and very disciplined. They scored three times, that’s the reality. We were unable to find an opening. It was difficult and it must be better. There is no reason to panic. We don’t want to concede goals and we will look at it, but we must not panic. “
Liverpool are still 22 points ahead of Manchester City.
