Louis van Gaal is happy with Memphis Depay after his eye catching performance for Manchester United U21’s on Monday.

The winger has had a tough time in Manchester this season after suffering a lack of form, but looked close to his dazzling best for the U21’s in their 7-0 hammering of Norwich City on Monday. Memphis finished the game with three assists.
Speaking to the press ahead of Saturday’s tie with Sunderland, Louis van Gaal praised Memphis and believes Monday will have given the Dutch international some much needed confidence.
Van Gaal said, “For him it was fantastic, even for his confidence. Moreover, I saw how the fans reacted. Those are real fans who follow the second team. They were very enthusiastic. Memphis gave three assists and all his actions looked good. That is important for him. “
