Marco van Ginkel believes his recovery is on the right track and he is aiming to make his comeback before the end of the season.

The 27-year-old hasn’t played since May 2018 due to multiple injuries but is currently on loan from Chelsea to PSV Eindhoven.

Speaking to Eindhovens Dagblad, Van Ginkel stated his recovery is on the right track, “It is really going in the right direction.

“I feel good and I always have to keep the right balance. Three or four times a week I now join the group and I am almost there. The most important thing is to take the last steps in a responsible manner to to be able to cash in on the entire recovery process. “

Van Ginkel does not yet have a date for his return, “The training shows how it will all go. At some point I might play in an eleven against eleven.”

The midfielder has had a tough time with his recovery, “It has definitely not always been easy. Of course not. I do not think it has been healthy what I have been through. Mentally and physically it does something to you, but I didn’t need a mental coach for that. My girlfriend, parents, parents-in-law and friends have always been there for me. They are great. I have enough of that.”
