The 28-year-old only made five appearances in the Premier League last season and indicated to the club that he wanted to leave this summer.
Just before the transfer window shut, van la Parra has completed a move to Red Star Belgrade for an undisclosed fee.
In Serbia, the former Heerenveen and Wolves forward will get the chance to play in the Champions League. Red Star Belgrade are in a group with Bayern Munich, Olympiakos Piraeus and Tottenham Hotspur.
Sensible option from Huddersfield Town. VLP wanted a summer move. So no shocks really . Think the club were waiting for the right selling opportunity . Suits all party’s.
Huddersfield require real quality to come into the club. Unfortunately we have to wait till the Jan window. Phil and the team, have always know this year will be a massive transitional one. Hopefully we will not be relegated. I think this will be a 2 to 3 year plan, to return to the premier league. U T T
