PSV has already lost Cody Gakpo to Liverpool this month but they could also be about to say goodbye to Noni Madueke. Chelsea are circling the English winger and Ruud van Nistelrooy admitted during his press conference on Friday that the club could have their hands forced by a big offer.

According to VI, Van Nistelrooy said, “I also know about that interest in Noni. I’d rather not lose him, but that’s not up to me. The fact that there is a lot of interest in him, is of course due to his quality and his performance. But that worries me. Because we have to see if we can keep him, of course I really hope for that.

“In any case, we must do everything we can. But you also know that things can take off if the purse is pulled hard. But then you have to be ready with an option, several options actually, because then it would mean losing your second player in the winter.”

Van Nistelrooy could not rule out Madueke’s departure, “I have already stated my wish: that no player would leave during the winter break. That also applied to Gakpo and that applies to every player. As a trainer you just want to keep your best players, that’s clear. But there can also be situations like with Cody, where a certain type of club comes with a certain offer, so that a player and the club come to the conclusion that it can no longer be stopped. I don’t hope for another scenario like this, but I can’t rule it out.”
