Robin van Persie has revealed that he has turned down a number of offers to keep playing football.

The 35-year-old decided to hang up his boots at the end of the season and was given a special farewell in front of the Feyenoord fans.

However, speaking to RTV Rijnmond, Van Persie revealed that he has received offers to keep on playing.

He responded when asked about the offers, “From a number of countries; Coincidentally not China. But I cut it off right away. My agent told me and I immediately said: I don’t need to hear it anymore,”

On what he is doing with his retirement, Van Persie said, “I played a good game of tennis and swam. I also did some exercises in the gym, so I am enjoying myself.

“I actually do more now than I did as a football player in my vacation. A little more sushi goes in and things like that. I have a few more cheat days.”
