According to Algameen Dagblad, Van Persie’s management have reached an agreement with Fenerbahce over a departure and also a deal which will see the striker return to Feyenoord.
Van Persie will undergo a medical exam on Saturday before being unveiled by the club early next week. If everything goes to plan then the 34-year-old could feature in next weekend’s De Klassieker against Ajax. No details over a length of contract are known yet.
Van Persie made his debut with Feyenoord in 2001, making 78 appearances for the club and scoring 22 goals before joining Arsenal in 2004. He later played for Manchester United before joining Fenerbahce in 2015.
A return to De Kuip was expected in the summer but a deal couldn’t be reached with Fenerbahce. Now the Turkish club are willing to let the forward leave on a free with Vincent Janssen and Robert Soldado ahead of him in the pecking order.
