Robin van Persie has described Netherlands position in Group A of the European Championship qualifying as “Awful.”

A 3-0 defeat to Turkey on Sunday evening means Netherlands now slip to fourth in group A, and with two games left they are relying on other results going their way if they are to reach the play-offs.
Speaking to NOS, after the defeat, Van Persie said, “It is no longer in our own hands. Terrible. I think that’s really awful.”
“This whole qualification is very difficult, but we still have opportunities. We need to continue until the end and win the last two games.”
“Whether this hurts? I guess you could say, yes,”
