The all-time leading scorer for the Netherlands national team was left out of the squad for this month’s friendlies with Wales and Germany with Blind blaming Van Persie’s lack of fitness for the decision.
Speaking to NOS after Fenerbahce’s 0-0 draw with Ajax on Thursday, Van Persie stated he will always be available for the Dutch national team should they recall him.
Van Persie said, “He (Danny Blind) made his announcement, I listened. That was it.”
“I am available for Oranje. I took on his words, but I do not react to it. They were harsh words, yes. But it is not relevant. ”
The 32-year-old has 101 caps for Netherlands, scoring fifty goals.
