vn rhijnThe right back has had a frustrating season in Amsterdam with Kenny Tete the first choice right back for Frank de Boer, and an exit from the club in January seemed likely.

Talks with Galatasaray and Everton took place, but with Tete suffering a long term injury, Van Rhijn ended up staying at the Amsterdam Arena.

Van Rhijn told NOS, “In the winter there were some calls. I spoke with Galatasaray. That was very exciting, but ultimately it was not very close. Everton were indeed interested, but they decided not to come back. Maybe that will come later. ”

Van Rhijn expects to leave Ajax in the summer, but he will not turn his back on the side this season. He concluded by stating, “If De Boer need’s me, I’m ready.”
