Vitesse have their first home win of the season after a 2-0 win over Go Ahead Eagles.

wolfwiThe home side struggled to create chances in the first half with Navarone Foor firing wide from distance, while Nathan saw an effort cleared off the line.

Theo Zwarthoed kept out a Lewis Baker free kick just after the hour mark as Vitesse went looking for the breakthrough and eventually they found it fifteen minutes before the end after a handball in the box by Sander Fischer. Ricky van Wolfswinkel slotted in from the spot to break the deadlock.

A minute from time Vitesse sealed the victory with substitute Mitchell van Bergen setting up Baker to fire past Zwartheod. The victory moves Vitesse up to sixth while Go Ahead are 15th.
