AZ Alkmaar have unveiled Feyenoord midfielder Marko Vejinovic on a season-long loan deal.

The 27-year-old has returned to his former club on loan as part of the deal which saw left-back Ridgeciano Haps join Feyenoord.

Vejinovic was frozen out at Feyenoord last season and only made two Eredivisie appearances. He now hopes to kick-start his career again at AZ, where he previously played between 2007 and 2009.

Vejinovic told the official AZ website, “I am really looking forward to it and think it’s good to be back.

“People trust me, the perspective is good and I am also here with the right feeling. I want to again show Marko Vejinovic as a footballer. That happened too little in recent years. I think and hope to be important for this team. ”

Vejinovic, who started in the Ajax academy, has represented Utrecht, Heracles, and Vitesse before moving to Feyenoord in 2015.
