Joel Veltman is not thinking about leaving Ajax at the moment as he focuses fully on the coronavirus outbreak.

The defender has been heavily linked with a move abroad for the last few transfer windows, but has so far remained in Amsterdam. This summer, Veltman was again set to leave the ArenA but that has been put on hold because of the coronavirus outbreak.

He told the Ajax website when asked if he was thinking about a transfer, “No, not at the moment. The most important thing for now is that we get out of this crisis, then we will see further.

“It is a bizarre time for everyone. And where we can, we as players try to mean something for the people around us. There are many concerns, of course. Many clubs are having a hard time financially. What does the future hold? Time it will tell, but I hope to say in a few years that we have done the right thing. “
