vilhena-fey-suppSunday’s 3-0 win over PEC Zwolle was the first time Vilhena has featured for Feyenoord since the death of his mother, and the home supporters showed their support by holding up thousands of lights and singing “You’ll never walk alone.”

After the match, Vilhena told NOS,  “I was a bit emotional. They still think of you and be with you.

“I appreciate the support and I certainly was extra stimulated to come back,”

Vilhena admitted that playing football was a welcome distraction for him after what has been a difficult few weeks, “I could lose my head on the field, that works for me as a good distraction. And I’ve had a lot of support recently from players, staff, and management. Actually everyone inside and outside of Feyenoord.”
