Speaking to VI, the player himself has stated that he was open to staying at Feyenoord and only wanted the same pay as some of his other teammate’s.

Vilhena said, “Its not for nothing that I entered into conversation with the club.

“Everybody knows it’s my home, so a longer stay at the club was a serious option for me, also Feyenoord is my club and will remain so.

“The only thing I asked for is a salary that most other players get at the club. Feyenoord were not prepared for that. Okay, then don’t.

“I hear and read that I get put down as a money-grabber, but those who know salaries at Feyenoord, know I’m not. I do not earn millions, but should I still get less than other guys? It’s just a form of appreciation. Feyenoord does not want to give me that, well, then I look further. ”

Vilhena then stated he would miss Feyenoord boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst, “I wish the club all the best and I will miss the coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst. I am grateful for the confidence he has given me. ”

On his future, Vilhena is confident of finding a great new club, “I’m confident that I’ll go to a nice club where I can develop further.”

According to VI, Hamburg, Wolfsburg, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Porto and several Spanish clubs are interested in the midfielder.
