Cambuur were embarrassed 6-1 by Heracles last week and after only two minutes they were behind in Arnhem, as Lewis Baker slammed in a penalty after Nathan was brought down by Calvin Mac Intosch.
However the away side equalised against the run of play on 28 minutes as Mac Intosch made up for his mistake earlier in the game to set up Sander van de Streek, who made no mistake in beating Eloy Room. Vitesse’s lead was restored five minutes later by Abiola Dauda, who capitalised on an error by goalkeeper Leonard Nienhuis before slotting into the net.
Vitesse were awarded their second penalty on 66 minutes after Baker was brought down, but the on loan midfielder struck his spot kick against the bar. The home side continued to push forward and after Guram Kashia made it 3-1 Dominik Solanke came off the bench to add his first Eredivisie goal with a lovely finish.
The win puts Vitesse up to 6th, while Cambuur remain on one point.
