The Common Group is an American investment company, founded by Coley Parry, who also owns Leyton Orient and Belgian amateur outfit Patro Maasmechelen.
Vitesse general director Pascal van Wijk told the club’s website, “It is an important day for Vitesse and everyone who cares about the club. For months we have worked hard behind the scenes to bring the acquisition process to the best possible end. We are convinced that the Common Group is the right party for Vitesse and we present the new major shareholder with enthusiasm, pride and confidence.”
Vitesse has been looking for a new owner since Valeri Oyf withdrew his funding in March. The Russian’s departure was due to major international pressure that arose after the start of the war in Ukraine.
The Common Group’s ownership is still pending the KNVB’s approval which could take some time, but it has not stopped the club from confirming the American’s arrival.
