NEC Nijmegen was reduced to ten-men early on but they managed to grind out a 0-0 draw at Vitesse Arnhem.

Both sides went into the game with confidence after good results last weekend, but in the 23rd minute the momentum went to Vitesse. Oussama Tannane slapped Kacper Kozlowski on his return to Arnhem and was shown a red card.

With the extra-man, Vitesse had possession but their first big chance came in the second half as Million Manhoef fired just wide. At the other end, Kjell Scherpen had to make a good save to prevent Souffian El Karouani.

Jasper Cillessen proved unbeatable in the NEC goal before the end as he kept out efforts from Sondre Tronstad and Nikolai Baden Frederiksen.

In the end, NEC saw out the game to take a point which keeps them ninth, while Vitesse is in 14th spot.
