Fraser has already confirmed his intentions to step down from his role at the end of the campaign, and the search for a new head coach has already begun.

According to De Gelderlander, general manager Joost de Wit and interim technical director Marc van Hintum were invited for a meeting with parent club Chelsea. At the meeting, former Hull City and Russia boss Leonid Slutsky was present, leading to speculation that the Russian is a candidate to replace Fraser.

Slutsky, who made his name with CSKA Moscow and Russia was sacked by Hull City after only nineteen games this season.

Van Hintum said on the rumours, “We do not make any announcements about the trainers vacancy. We’re not going to confirm anything, there are a lot of rumors, and if I have to believe that, we should have had 50 coaches by now.”
