Ricky van Wolfswinkel has left Norwich City to sign a three-year deal with former club Vitesse Arnhem.

vn wolfThe striker started his career with Vitesse, spending ten years in Arnhem and scoring eight goals in 33 league games before leaving for Utrecht in 2009. After two years with Utrecht, Van Wolfswinkel went on to play for Sporting Lisbon before signing with Norwich City in 2013.

The 27-year-old’s time in England hasn’t been a success and the Dutch international also failed to impress on loan with St Etienne and Real Betis, but now has the chance to get his career back on track with Vitesse.

The Arnhem club confirmed the signing of their former youth graduate on Thursday, with van Wolfswinkel signing a three-year deal.

Speaking to the official Vitesse website, van Wolfswinkel said, “I debuted in professional football on behalf of Vitesse and that is something you never forget.

“After several foreign adventures I look forward to returning to the Dutch fields. I hope to find my niche and want to play well and add many goals and assists for Vitesse. “
