Hans de Koning will remain on as head coach of VVV Venlo after signing a new one-year deal with the club.

The 60-year-old became VVV boss after Robert Maaskant was sacked earlier in the campaign.

De Koning led the club away from the drop zone before the campaign was ended early. VVV feel no reason to make a change and De Koning has now signed a new one-year deal.

VVV technical manager Stan Valckx said, “He has shown that he knows what it is all about when you fight for survival in the Eredivisie: forging a selection into a fighting machine and operating it as one team with a clear mission: survival. That has paid off and created a solid foundation for the new season.”
