The hosts went into the game on the back of three straight defeats but would have seen the game against NAC as the perfect chance to get back to winning ways.
However, VVV failed to get going and it was NAC who had the better chances in the game with goalkeeper Lars Unnerstall having to be in great form to prevent the visitors taking the lead.
Late on, NAC thought they should have had a penalty when Rai Vloet went down in the box, but play was waved on and the game limped to a scoreless draw.
The point means NAC climb one place to 16th while VVV are 12th.
