Promotion was already assured but VVV Venlo have now confirmed themselves as this years Eerste Divisie champions.

VVV Venlo sealed their place in the Eredivisie last Friday and could have confirmed the league title on Monday but they were held to a 0-0 draw by Emmen.
Maurice Steijn’s side headed to FC Eindhoven only needing a point to end the title race and that is exactly what they got with the game ending 0-0. FC Eindhoven were reduced to ten men in the second half, but VVV couldn’t find the winning goal with Joey Sleegers smashing the crossbar.
VVV Venlo now have two more Eerste Divisie matches to go before they can start preparing for their top-flight return.
