German Bundesliga side Werder Bremen have confirmed the signing of AZ Alkmaar striker Aron Johannsson on a four-year-deal.

johannsson dAZ Alkmaar accepted an offer on Tuesday for the American international, believed to be around €5 million, and after undergoing his medical, Johannsson put pen to paper on a deal with Werder Bremen until 2019.

The 24-year-old told the official Werder Bremen website, “Werder Bremen are a big club. This is the right step in my development. I will do my best to further develop myself and to contribute to the success,”

Johannsson signed for AZ from AGF Aarhus in 2013, with the striker going on to score 37 times in 82 appearances for the club.
